What the heck is Creek Stomping?
Our farm borders the Little River (a tributary of the Neuse), and for years we've enjoyed swimming and fishing in the river as a family. Once we opened the River Trail, we decided to open the river too. The water is beautiful and clear and down on the water it feels like you are a world away from Goldsboro, NC. It truly is a hidden gem and we love letting people enjoy it the way we do.

The water levels range from ankle to chest, but most of levels are ankle to waist. Some areas are gravelly and there are fallen limbs in the water so we require water shoes of some kind to enter (we recommend old tennis shoes). Below you'll see info on what to bring, just remember that there is a current and things will not stay where you put them. We allow catch-and-release fishing and regularly catch fish like catfish, shell crackers, brim, and bass. There are many frogs, crayfish, small minnows, salamanders, and river mussels (which are an endangered and protected species); we ask that you leave them where you find them. We follow the Leave No Trace Principles. If you bring it in, take it out. If you find it there, leave it there.
We don't allow driving back on ATV's or vehicles even if they are 4 wheel drive. Not only is the path bumpy with roots, ditches, and wet areas it has many tight turns. Also there is not room for parking at the river. We've had bad experiences that caused us to stop the practice altogether. Once you arrive and get your ticket, we'll load up in the shuttle and drive you back there. We roll every thirty minutes and when you're ready to go just load back up and we'll bring you back.
Hours: It varies, but we're planning to be open most weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day. I usually post dates for the month, and we'll have them below. It may change due to weather and river levels so check our social media pages for the most up-to-date information.
Price: $7 for everyone age 3 and up. There is no charge for children 2 and under. The last ticket is sold 30 min before closing.
We do allow photographers at the river, but the only way to reach it is to schedule a shoot with us so we can drive you down, or walking. Here's a link to our photographer page for info about policies and fees.
